Pilot facility deployments typically take 4-8 weeks from contract signing to go-live. This includes hardware installation, system configuration, integration setup, and staff training. Multi-facility rollouts follow a phased approach based on your operational calendar and priorities.
SmartBin integrates with IBM AS400 systems, Safety Chain, proprietary CA monitoring equipment, and quality testing devices via standard protocols (Modbus, BACnet, HTTP/REST). We also provide CSV/Excel/JSON exports and RESTful APIs for custom integrations. Our goal is to enhance your existing workflows, not replace them.
Core hardware includes UHF RFID tags for bins (10+ year lifespan), RFID readers at key checkpoints, and LoRa gateways for field coverage where cellular isn't available. Data entry uses standard tablets or smartphones. Optional accelerometer units can be added for handling quality monitoring. Most facilities leverage existing equipment wherever possible.
SmartBin uses an annual subscription model based on bin count and feature set. Volume discounting is available for large operations. You own your data, period. SmartBin provides tools to export your complete dataset at any time in standard formats. Security measures include SOC 2 Type II compliance, TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access control, and regular third-party security audits. Your operational data is never shared without explicit consent.
Implementation includes comprehensive training for all user roles: receiving staff, quality technicians, storage operators, and management.
